EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Monticello's Adalynn Biegler set two state records at the Class 1A girls swimming meet and is one of our Athletes of the Week
This week's list includes adapted soccer athletes Yonis Noor of Minneapolis South and Griedin Corley of Dakota United, along with Orono swimmer Graycin Andreen, Baily Rupp of Bemidji girls hockey and football players Mason Gorghuber of Alexandria and Isaiah Wright of Fertile-Beltrami.
Monticello's Adalynn Biegler set state records in the 50- (22.38 seconds) and 100-yard freestyles (49.20) in the Class 1A girls swimming meet at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the University of Minnesota. (Monticello High School)
Edina’s Rachel Wittmer owned the state mark in the 50 freestyle (22.54) while Chanhassen’s Zoe Avestruz was the previous record holder in the 100 freestyle (49.22).
“Some of my goals this year were the state records in both of those events,” Biegler said. “My times really dropped in both of those at the True Team state meet. That’s when I saw those records in my near future.”
