QUICK Q&A:  ANNIE BREKKEN, LAKEVILLE SOUTH SOPHOMORE

QUICK Q&A:  ANNIE BREKKEN, LAKEVILLE SOUTH SOPHOMORE

The best movie I've seen in the last year? "The Hunger Games."

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... "Our God" by Chris Tomlin; "How He Loves" by David Crowder Band; "Shout Unto God'' by Hillsong.

Who do you like to follow the most on Twitter, and why? Runner Girl because their tweets are all about what the life of a high school girl runner is about, and trust me, it's a pretty interesting life.

Three words my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Inspirational; dedicated; and like most cross-country runners ... awkward.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... like I was going to die. I told the team I had to go to the bathroom at least four times because I wanted to stop running. I came home and told my parents to e-mail my coach that I never wanted to run with varsity ever again because they were way too fast for me.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Going to state for the first time. Our team placed fourth, and it was a cool experience to run in the state meet as a little seventh-grader.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? School and church come first, and there are a lot of late nights staying up doing homework especially after meets.

In 10 years, I hope I'm ... a Special Olympics coach, a nurse or a physical therapist. I also want to be married and I'm going to make my husband run with me. He doesn't get a choice.
